    Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is a important document to pass chemical dangerous information. In European countries, MSDS is also known as SDS (Safety Data sheet). International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 11014 adopt SDS terminology, while in the United States, Canada, Australia and many Asian countries adopt MSDS terminology.
    MSDS is a comprehensive legal document that the chemical production or sale of enterprises as required by law to provide clients with the chemical characteristics. It is a brief description of a chemical on human health and the environment harm, and it provides information on safe handling, storage and use of the chemical. At present the United States, Japan, the European Union countries and other developed countries has been generally established and implemented MSDS system. Based on their chemical management regulations, manufacturers of hazard chemicals usually provide a copy of MSDS in the sale, transport or export of their products.

    "Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals", referred to as GHS, are regulatory documents published by the United Nations as a guide for States in the control of chemical hazards and the protection of humans and the environment, and is drafted by the International Labor Organization (ILO), Organization for Economic Cooperation, Development (OECD) and the United Nations. In December 2002, for the first time GHS is officially published by the United Nations. As its cover is purple, GHS is also known as the "Purple Book”, and it is expected to be fully implemented in 2008.
    GHS applies to pure chemical substances, their dilute solutions and mixtures of chemical substances. It classifies chemicals by hazard types, and suggests on the reunification of hazard communication elements (including labels and safety data sheets). GHS aims to ensure the provision of information on chemicals, physical hazards and acute toxicity in order to enhance the protection of human health and environmental on chemical handling, transport and use in the process. GHS also provides the basis for unification of rules and regulations for national, regional and global levels chemicals.

GHS includes two aspects:
(1) Uniform standards classified according to healthy, environmental and physical hazards of substances and mixtures, including:
a. Physical hazards
b. Health hazards
c. Environmental hazards
(2) Uniform hazard communication elements, including labels and safety data sheets (SDS)

Covers
(1) Identification of chemicals and manufacturers
Mainly identify chemical name, manufacturer, address, postcode, telephone number, emergency telephone, fax and other information.
(2) Component / Composition Information
Indicate that the chemical is a pure chemical or a mixture, and the composition information of the mixture
(3) Overview of hazard
An overview of the most important chemical hazards and effects, including: hazard types, pathways, health hazards, environmental hazards, combustion and explosion hazards and so on.
(4)  First aid measures
Brief approach of on-site self-help or mutual aid when operator accidentally hurt, including: the first aid measures of eye contact, skin contact, inhalation, ingestion.
(5) Fire-fighting
Indicate the physical and chemical hazards, suitable extinguishing media, inappropriate fire extinguishing media, as well as personal protective and other information.
(6) Leakage emergency
On-site simple and effective emergency measures, notes and elimination methods after leakage.
(7) Handling and Storage
Information of chemical operations in the disposal and safe storage
(8) Exposure controls/ Personal protection
Protective methods during the operation of production, disposal, handling and use of chemicals, in order to protect operating person from chemical hazards.
(9) Physical and Chemical Properties
Mainly describe the appearance of chemicals, physical and chemical properties.
(10) Stability and Reactivity
Mainly describes the chemical stability and reactivity information.
(11) Toxicological Information
Provide toxicological information of chemicals.
 (12) Ecological Information
Mainly describes the environmental ecological effects、behavior and fate of chemicals.
(13) Disposal
The safety disposal approach of the packaging polluted by chemicals and non-use value of the chemicals.
(14) Transport Information
Mainly about transportation requirements of domestic and international chemicals packaging and transport, also the classification and number of transport requirements.
(15) Regulatory information
Mainly about the legal provisions and standards on chemicals management.
(16) Other information
Mainly provides other important safety information.

IR spectrum:
For molecular material with infrared absorption and the dipole moment changes, our report will be accompanied infrared spectroscopy in MSDS. The role of Infrared spectra:
(1) For a pure substance, can be inferred the main component of the sample.
(2) Customer can pass MSDS as well as infrared spectroscopy to the downstream, and inform the authenticity of products to their downstream production or sale.
(3) Customer can backup infrared spectra, when product the next batch of products, can determine whether differences exist between them according to the infrared spectroscopy of two batches.

Notes:
1. Solid samples need about 30g, liquid sample need about 30 ~ 50mL;
2. The specific time and cost of urgent testing need to be further deliberated ;
3. Additional test cost does not included inside, and the time need to be further deliberated. Specific costs and sample dosages of additional test can found below. ;
4. MSDS / SDS documentation is according to ISO 11014-1:2009 unless special requirements , and if SDS documentation is according to GB / T 16483-2008 or meet the GHS requirements, the time and costs need to be further deliberated;
5. The client shall contact us before our center take the remittance sheet if the client want to stop the test, otherwise, the client shall pay related charge.
